— FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
- How old should my child start ballet?
- Children as young as 3 can begin our Beginning Ballet classes, where they build coordination, musicality, and a love for movement in a fun, structured setting.
- Do beginners need experience?
- No experience is required. Our beginner classes are designed to welcome first-time dancers and build strong foundational technique from day one.
- How often should my child attend?
- Once a week is a great start. As dancers advance, we recommend two or more classes per week to progress in technique, strength, and pointe readiness.
- Can boys take ballet?
- Absolutely. Ballet develops strength, athleticism, and artistry — qualities that benefit every dancer, and boys are always welcome at The Dance Barre.
- What are the Pointe requirements?
- Pointe requires a minimum of 3 ballet classes weekly, and must be approved by the Ballet Mistress.
